Weather I’m choreographing a stage show, film,video,concert stage,or nightclub act I love working with professional dancers and non trained dancers. What I like to use in my choreography is “Method Dancing” I made that name up, but that is what I do. For example in the stage show”Tracers” my husband Wally and I worked with actors who were all Vietnam Vets and choreographed them in several large dance productions numbers using skills they already had, such as combat training and martial arts. We used their skills and turned them into dance movements, these guys saw themselves turn into the dancer they never dreamed they could be. “Tracers” won the “Drama-Louge Award” for best choreography. In “Marathon Madness” I used professional dancers, ballroom dancers, acrobats, and actors who had never danced to create a stage show with dance numbers throughout. Everyone of the actors owned their dance. “Marathon” won the “LA Weekly Award” for best choreography. As in any of the productions I have choreographed or my husband and I, we owe the awards to the actors who became “The Dancer” and the dancers who became the actors.
